Your child is only this age once. Bianca’s parents wanted to keep exactly who she was, at exactly this age — before she grew into someone new.
She is nine, and her world is wide: the piano, gymnastics, butterflies, and long bright days on the Costa Blanca. And never far from any of it, a small black miniature poodle named Bubbles — the sort of companion who ends up in every story a child tells.
We captured all of it as an illustrated keepsake in soft watercolour — not a photo album, but a storybook, told warmly in her own world. The kind of book a child treasures now, and treasures differently thirty years from now, when they open it and meet the child they used to be.
She began piano at five, her feet still dangling above the pedals. For a while it was work — scales, and sitting still. Then something shifted: she stopped practising and started playing, and everyone in the house heard the difference. And wherever she went, Bubbles went too.
